Objective | To promote research ethics and the responsible conduct of research in accordance with the TCPS, and/or the RCR Framework. |
Description |
Grants are awarded to help defray the cost of organizing events such as educational conferences, workshops and related activities. All events must promote and advance the understanding of the TCPS and/or the RCR Framework. Events must engage one or more of the following: researchers, research ethics board members, administrators of eligible institutions, or other communities or groups involved in the application of the TCPS and/or the RCR Framework to their activities. All expenses related to the proposed event(s) must be in accordance with the Agencies’ guidelines. |
Eligibility | The Principal Applicant, who assumes administrative responsibility for the grant, must be affiliated with an institution eligible to administer Agency funds. |

Value |
Up to $25,000.00 per grant. Amounts in excess may be considered if well justified, for example, events with potential for significant participation and impact beyond the event itself. Given the nature of events that the SETS grants program supports, many of which occur in the spring/early fall, a larger share (up to 75%) of the SETS program budget will be allocated to support applications submitted by the February 1 deadline. |

Evaluation of applications | All applications will be subject to a review process based on evaluation criteria. Applicants are strongly encouraged to consider those criteria when completing their application. |
Announcement of results | The SRCR will notify the applicants of the results within two months of the deadline date. |
