Changes to SETS Grant Program
In its continuous effort to meet the needs of Canada’s research community, the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research (SRCR) has updated the SRCR Education and Training Support (SETS) Grant Program.
As of 2020, the SRCR will allocate its grant support exclusively to educational events (e.g., conferences, workshops) that promote research ethics in accordance with the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS) and/or RCR in accordance with the Tri-Agency Framework: Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR Framework).
The revised SETS Grant Program includes:
- new deadlines of February 1 and October 1; (The deadline is extended until February 10, 2020.)
- an upper limit of $25K per grant; and
- clarification of the evaluation criteria.
The program will no longer support the development of educational tools and resources for research ethics and RCR. The Secretariat recognizes the importance of such tools and resources, however; their development requires more financial support than the SETS grants budget can provide.
